Do not forget to enter the Schwartz for Chef Flavour Pairing Challenge at Hospitality Salon Culinaire 2011

The prestigious open classes in the Live Theatre at Hospitality 2011 will test the best in the industry and see individuals and teams of chefs showcasing their skills in front of a live audience, competing for a highly coveted Salon Culinaire medal.

Herbs and spices are essential ingredients for chefs seeking the inspiration to unlock flavour creativity and once again Schwartz for Chef is sponsoring its Flavour Pairing Challenge. Teams of two chefs will have just 45 minutes to prepare, cook and present a two course meal for two, using one pair of flavours in each dish from the following: Garlic & Pink Grapefruit; Chives & Coconut; Oregano & Butter Beans; Ground Cinnamon & Hazelnut; Thyme & Anchovy; Turmeric & Tomato; Ground Nutmeg & Honey and Black Pepper & Goat’s Cheese. The menu must consist of either a starter and main course or a main course and dessert.

The winner will receive a ‘money can’t buy’ day cooking with Cyrus Todiwala, renowned for his innovative and exciting use of spices, to be held at Cyrus’ Café Spice restaurant, in a one-to-one session, to include lunch with wine.

Entry forms are available from peter@salonculinaire.co.uk and must be submitted by 1st December 2010. Schwartz for Chef product samples for entrants are available from ukfoodservice@mccormick.co.uk.
