Herbs can make great vinaigrette

Vinaigrettes can really make a salad shine

Culinary herbs are a great way to make your restaurant's offerings really start apart from the crowd.

Our resident expert Chef Steve says that one of his favourite things about these ingredients is their versatility - the fact that they can give an edge to almost any dish.

Professional chef Pierre Koffmann - winner of the coveted three Michelin star rating for his London restaurant La Tante Claire - recommended the use of French mustard in a vinaigrette for a dandelion salad with bacon and poached eggs recipe.

In an article for the Daily Telegraph, he added that parsley can also make for the perfect garnish.

However - why not try coming up with embellishments of your own? This could really impress diners and keep them coming back for more.

Who knows - adopting an attitude of experimentation may even lead you to stumble across a new signature dish for your restaurant.
