Chillies can make great chutney

Professional chef and food writer Xanthe Clay has recommended producing a rose hip chutney, as most parts of the country have benefitted from a good crop this year.

She shared her ingredients for the recipe in an article for the Daily Telegraph - and this could be a great way of offering something seasonal for your diners.

This means that it could form the perfect part of a tapas-style starter or light bite option.

Ms Clay's ingredients included a wide range of culinary spices, such as the likes of cardamom, garlic, ginger and a shake of chilli sauce.

This is where professional caterers can really allow their creativity to shine - and coming up with new flavour pairings of your own is easy when you simply try new combinations of herbs and spices.

Your own creations could be perfectly complemented by some of the relishes and salsas in our Bick's range.
