Sage is just fantastic on carbonara

Add sage to pasta

When coming up with a new range of recipes for your restaurant's menu selection, it is not advisable to abandon old favourites.

Dishes like roast dinners and pasta are perennial favourites with diners - so removing them completely may not be wise.

While preparing the same meals over and over can get a bit repetitive, there is another way to bring some excitement to traditional options.

Paul Gayler - executive chef at London's prestigious Hyde Park location the Lanesborough Hotel - shared his recipe for a carbonara in an article for the Daily Telegraph.

His ingredients were certainly distinctive - with new twists such as nutmeg and sage.

The addition of culinary herbs and spices is exactly the kind of way that a staple can be turned into something new and exciting.

It could even turn out to be a massive hit with your customers - so don't be afraid to try new things!
