Infuse rice with cinnamon and ginger

Infuse rice with cinnamon and ginger

Chefs can keep their diners guessing by preparing staple recipes in new way to introduce a little variety to the menu that could really set a restaurant's offerings apart from the crowd.

For instance, rice dishes can be infused with exciting combinations of culinary spices to give them a very distinctive flavour.

In an article for the Daily Telegraph, professional chef and food writer Diana Henry recommended using cinnamon and ginger for this purpose.

However, here at Schwartz for Chef we really advocate experimentation.

Indeed, our resident expert Chef Steve says one of his favourite things about herbs and spices is the fact that they can be brought together in new flavour pairings.

This can also help to bring out the natural flavour of other ingredients, so works really well to accentuate any meat or vegetables that might be included with the rice.

So why not try out some new ingredients that you wouldn't normally think of bringing together?
