Spices are essential for Mexican food

Caterers could bring recipes inspired by the culinary traditions of other cultures to their menu in order offer their diners

In an article for the Guardian, celebrity chef Bill Granger asserted that a wide range of culinary spices are necessary for the preparation of Mexican-influenced taco dishes.

He suggested the use of cayenne pepper, chilli and turmeric in a spicy fish taco with cabbage coleslaw and avocado dressing.

"The fish makes them healthier than most tacos and I love the way coating the fillets in polenta gives them a bit of crunch and texture," Mr Granger explained.

But there is no reason why caterers cannot bring their own flavour pairings to the dish, as this could really bring a unique twist to the mix.

It can also help to set your restaurant apart from the crowd and keep diners coming back for more.
