Cauliflower a great spicy curry ingredient

Spices can be added to the cauliflower curry

A curry containing various herbs and spices is an ideal meal for making use of the "beautiful" cauliflowers that can be found on supermarket shelves at present.

Emily Koch, writing for the Bristol Evening Post, noted she was looking for the perfect recipe in which to use the vegetable, beyond the usual cauliflower cheese or salad.

She discovered a recipe for cauliflower curry on the internet and has since come up with her own variation, which makes use of spices such as garam masala, cumin, cardamom pods and turmeric.

Ms Koch said the dish was "so full of flavour" that she "barely noticed it was a vegetarian meal", adding all of the spices could be tasted at various different points as she ate.

Another recipe that makes use of spices is a pork belly dish created by Jonathan Ponzer.

According to the Kansas City Star, the meat needs curing in a blend of spices for two days before being cooked.
