Expert recommends high protein recipes for weight loss

Chicken dishes can offer high protien and low fat recipes

Creative cuisine that provides a high protein diet could lead to dramatic weight loss, according to nutritionist Dr Sarah Brewer.

The founder of Natural Health Guru offered up advice to those looking to lose weight, saying people should eat a variety of healthy foods such as fruit, vegetables, lean meat and fish as well as whole grains and healthy snacks.

"A protein-based diet supplies a steady release of energy and is satiating, helping you to feel full for longer. As a result, you should eat less and so consume fewer calories," she explained.

Men's Health magazine offers its fat-busting recipe of chicken with vegetables seasoned with rosemary, thyme, black pepper and parsley.

Cooks are told to bake skinless and boneless chicken breasts with the herbs, a quarter cup of white whine, onions, celery, tomatoes and chicken broth in an oven pre-heated to 240C for 40 minutes.

Per serving, the dish contains only 3.5g of fat while boasting 32.6g of protein.
