Traditional Lincolnshire sausages sell time and time again

Traditional Lincolnshire sausages sell time and time again

Sausage casserole is an ever popular meal and a traditional Lincolnshire variant of the meat is sure to have people salivating at the prospect.

Family butcher Lakings Of Louth was recently honoured for having the best sausages in the East Midlands, with the recipe passed down over a number of generations.

Speaking to the Louth Target, Brenda Fiddling said it was wonderful to win the award.

Lakings manager Chris Smith has been involved in the preparation of the sausages for more than three decades and declared: "It is all down to the way they are put together, the high meat content and the combination of ingredients."

He added the traditional Lincolnshire sausages continue to "sell time and time again".

Chef patron at Murano restaurant Angela Hartnett recently told the Guardian how a stew using sausages and onions can be a simple to produce hearty meal, recommending the use of kidney beans and tomatoes as a flavour pairing for the dish.
