Add spices to pretzel rolls

Dont underestimate garnishes

When coming up with a new range of offerings for your restaurant's menu, it is important not to overlook the possibility of coming up with something unusual for the starter section.

While it would be easy to throw together the same old soups, it is well worth taking steps to ensure your selections really stand apart from the crowd.

One unusual way to do this could be to serve an old favourite with an alternative choice of a side dish.

Food writer Nicole Marshall Middleton has suggested making pretzel rolls - and this could be the perfect accompaniment to soup.

In an article for Tulsa World - taken from her publication The Epicurious Cookbook, More Than 250 of Our Best-Loved Four-Fork Recipes for Weeknights, Weekends and Special Occasions - she recommended sprinkling the finished rolls with coarse salt.

However, why not come up with something a little more exciting - paprika could be the ideal spicy option.
