Culinary spices can improve the blandest meat

Turkey is much more exciting with culinary spices

Culinary spices can be used to make the blandest meat really shine, chef and patron of Ottolenghi and Nopi in London Yotam Ottolenghi has claimed.

In a recipe he shared in the Guardian, the professional caterer stated sweet ingredients such as ground cumin and cardamom are really great in turkey burgers.

McCormick's resident expert Chef Steve says one of his favourite things about culinary spices is their ability to bring out the natural flavours of other ingredients, so this could become essential when applied to less exciting foods such as turkey.

Preparation of Mr Ottolenghi's recipe involved mixing turkey, spring onions, a beaten egg and all the relevant culinary herbs and spices in a bowl together.

These ingredients are then formed into burger shapes and charred in a griddle pan and he also suggested a sorrel sauce side serving.

Do you have any culinary tips on how to make turkey burgers more exciting?
