New food website may be useful for chefs

The website may be useful for chefs

Chefs searching for new recipe ideas might want to consider signing up to a new online resource that has been described as Facebook for food enthusiasts.

Foodily - which stands for Food I Love You - has been established by two former Yahoo! employees and lets users browse for recipes and ingredients, as well as share dishes over social networks such as Facebook.

It may be an invaluable resource for those in the hospitality industry who are looking for new dishes to try and want to get advice from their peers.

Writing on the Foodily blog, Andrea Cutright, one of the company's founders, explained the aim is to take advantage of "the way we really make decisions about what we eat - with the advice and ideas of those in our social network".

Chefs who want to make use of the site may want to check all their spices are relatively fresh before starting a dish, as Noelle Carter of the Los Angeles Times recently warned they start to lose their flavour after a couple of years.
