Herbs can help a pea soup stand out

Soups can be experimented with

When preparing new recipes for the starter section of the restaurant's menu, it would be completely understandable if professional caterers were left uninspired by the usual selection of soup dishes.

It can get a little dull making the same meal over and over - so why not mix things up a bit by bringing your own unique twist to a recipe?

Here at Schwartz for Chef, we really advocate this kind of creative approach - and our resident expert Chef Steve says culinary herbs are one of the best ways to get the best out of any dish.

Indeed, they have a versatility that means they have something to offer a wide range of different meals.

In an article for the Guardian, author of the Perfect cookbook Felicity Cloake recommended adding herbs to a pea soup.

This could be a great way to introduce some variety to a tried and tested staple - so don't be afraid to add your own combinations of new ingredients.
