Expert says potatoes are easy to grow

Potatoes can be easy to grow

Many people in the UK may be looking for some inspirational recipes that make use of potatoes.

This is because, according to editor at Amateur Gardening magazine Tim Rumball, they are very easy to grow.

He stated that there are a "huge range of different varieties", which makes it easy for individuals to introduce flavour and texture into their food.

Furthermore, potatoes are simple to cultivate and as well as flourishing when grown in soil, they can be planted in large bags.

If potatoes do not appeal, Mr Rumball also advised people to try growing rhubarb - something that may taste delicious when paired with cinnamon and nutmeg in a pie or crumble.

"Once you have planted a crown of rhubarb, it will carry on producing for years with very little maintenance," the expert stated.

This advice comes just after LovetheGarden launched a competition to find some of the best potato recipes in the UK following a similar contest with cabbages earlier this year.
