Primary school welcomes Master Chef finalist

Primary school welcomes Master Chef finalist

Kids at St Peter's CE Primary School in Harborne have been reaching for the culinary spices and creating some classic dishes with the help of Masterchef finalist Claudia Huxtable.

The TV star, who reached the finals in last year's show, popped along to her daughter's school to help kids build some tasty wraps from scratch.

She told the Birmingham Mail that it was vitally important that kids adhere to a healthy diet and getting them cooking exciting new dishes is one of the best ways to ensure that they try out different ingredients.

However, despite keeping her cool on the television programme, Mrs Huxtable said she was a little less confident when it came to teaching four-year-olds.

"I absolutely love cooking but I was a bit nervous doing it in front of four- and five-year-olds - even more than cooking on camera," she told the news provider.

She added: "I didn't have to worry though, the children were fantastic. They were really interested and asked lots of questions."

Tim Anderson won last year's Masterchef competition, after being hailed for his use of exotic flavour combinations.
