Lasagne - School Meal


- 1.2 kg lean minced beef
- 1.2 kg tinned chopped tomatoes
- 3 large onions, chopped
- 300 grams mushrooms, sliced
- 300 ml water
- 1 (sachet)
- Lasagne sheets
- 1 lt prepared cheese sauce
- 200 grams grated cheese


Brown the minced beef and onion together in a large pan. Drain off any excess liquid. Add the mushrooms and cook for 4-5 minutes.

Stir in the Schwartz for Chef Mediterranean Herb sachet, tomatoes and water. Bring to the boil stirring. Cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Allow to cool, and then place ½ the mixture into an oven proof dish.

Place lasagne sheets on top of the mixture, place remainder of the mixture on the lasagne sheets. Place remaining lasagne on the mince mix.

Cover with cheese sauce and sprinkle grated cheese over. Bake in hot oven until cooked.

Each portion serves 10 senior school children / adults and serves 20 junior school children.
