Chicken and Vegetable Pie School Meal

- 450 grams onions, diced
- 600 grams carrots, diced
- 4 tbs oil
- 1.2 kg chicken, diced
- 600 grams cold water
- 1 (sachet)
- 600 grams mushrooms, diced
- 300 grams frozen sweetcorn
- 1 kg prepared puff pastry
- Egg wash


Pre-heat the oven to 200°C, 400°F, Gas Mark 6.

Sweat off the onions and carrots in the oil, set aside. Add the meat to the pan and brown. Add the water, Savoury Mince Recipe Mix, cooked onions and carrots. Bring to the boil and simmer for 40 minutes. Add the mushrooms and sweetcorn and simmer for 5 minutes. Place the pie filling into an ovenproof dish and allow to cool.

Roll out the puff pastry and cover the pie filling. Egg wash the pastry and bake in the oven until golden brown.

Each portion serves 10 senior school children / adults and serves 20 junior school children.
