Curry Leaves come from a small, deciduous tree that grows wild in the foothills of the Himalayas and many parts of India. They get their name not from tasting of curry, but from being extensively used in curries.
Quality
Curry Leaves are long and slender, green leaves with a paler under side. They have a strong, warm aroma when bruised. Their taste is warm, lemony and slightly bitter.
Usage
- Add to curries towards the end of cooking.
- Great added to stews or steamed with rice to add a delicious subtle flavour.
