Parsley and mint are a classic combination for lamb

Lamb with mint is a classic

Lamb dishes are one example of a kind of meal that many Brits really closely associate with the use of culinary herbs.

This is particularly the case right now, as the days are drawing in and the summer is well and truly giving way to colder conditions.

Celebrity chef Bill Granger recommended the classic combination of parsley and mint with lamb rump steak in an article for the Independent.

"This herby, zingy salad makes a lovely, late-summer partner for the lamb and has a satisfyingly starchy element," he explained.

However, in order to set your restaurant's offerings apart from the crowd, the best approach may be to try and come up with alternative flavour pairings.

Our resident expert Chef Steve says that the best way to do this is to try adding different combinations of herbs and spices to the recipe.

Simply experiment by thinking about what properties of each ingredient could complement the others.
