Think of herbs to complement mushrooms

When coming up with new inspirational recipes to add to your restaurant's menu, it can be easy to overlook the starter selection in favour of focusing your attention on the mains.

However, this would be a massive oversight, as starters can still be something exciting and innovative that can really impress diners.

Co-creator of the Moveable Kitchen and the owner and head chef of the Dock Kitchen in Notting Hill Stevie Parle recommended using culinary herbs to create a mushroom rice salad.

In an article for the Daily Telegraph, he advised cooking the mushrooms with garlic before throwing everything together.

Our resident expert Chef Steve says that herbs and spices can bring something exciting to almost any dish - and Parle's recipe just goes to show that this is the case.

However, why not bring your own unique twist to his suggestion by adding your own combinations of alternative ingredients?
