Herbs are great in autumn dishes

When coming up with a new range of recipes for your restaurant's menu, it would be a good idea to think about what kind of food diners will feel like eating at this time of year.

Autumn is typically abundant with a wide range of fruit and vegetables that are in season - so take advantage of this.

Culinary herbs are essential additions to almost any recipe that uses these kind of ingredients.

In an article for the Guardian, celebrity chef Nigel Slater suggested stuffing a marrow with basil and tomatoes and serving this up as a dish.

This could fit the bill perfectly - as well as being a big hit with diners.

However, why not try coming up with your own take on this dish?

Simply experiment with new flavour pairings for a mixture to stuff the marrow with - herbs and spices are very versatile in this way.
