Garlic and thyme used to make mushroom lasagne

Garlic and thyme are used in a lasagne dish

Individuals considering what culinary herbs to incorporate into a lasagne dish could try cloves and parsley.

These ingredients featured in celebrity chef Bill Granger's recipe for the meal, which he shared in the Independent.

Preparation involved frying mushrooms with butter, garlic and thyme before stirring in extra mushrooms that have been soaked in boiling water and sherry.

A sauce made by cooking flour in a pan with butter and milk is whisked into this mixture until the liquid thickens.

Ricotta and Parmigiano-Reggiano are added to this paste, which is layered in a baking dish with the mushrooms and lasagne sheets.

Mr Granger recommended drizzling oil over the dish before covering with foil and baking for 20 minutes, then returning to the oven for another half hour without the foil.

Thyme also featured in the ingredients for an autumnal vegetable stew professional chef Stevie Parle recently had published in the Daily Telegraph.
