Cinnamon makes a delicious loaf dessert

Cinnamon is a brilliant culinary spice that has a wide range of uses to professional caterers.

It can be particularly effective in puddings that should prove to be very popular with diners at this time of year.

This is because it is closely associated with rich and warming dishes that are in high demand in the colder winter months.

Celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall recommended adding a teaspoon of ground cinnamon to a pumpkin and raisin tea loaf.

In an article for the Guardian, he explained that: "Grated pumpkin or squash works just as well as carrot in a cake, making for a sweet, moist result."

"This delicious loaf is also made without any oil or butter," Fearnley-Whittingstall continued.

However, why not be really adventurous and try putting your own stamp on the dish?

Trying new combinations of herbs and spices is a great way to experiment with different flavour options.
