Jamie Oliver backs Food Revolution Day

Jamie Oliver backs Food Revolution Day

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is almost as famous for his food campaigning as he is for his passion for culinary spices.

The cook has been twisting the ear of governments across the world as he vies to get communities eating more healthily.

First he took school dinner ladies under his wing as he attempted to get them to leave behind deep fried chips and pizzas and prepare healthier dishes that incorporated more vegetables.

After his school success he set his sights on transforming the famous - and high in fat - American diet.

Now, the Naked Chef has lent his support to Food Revolution Day, which will be held on May 19th.

Writing for the Sun newspaper, Oliver said: "For me, it's about empowering people through education or, frankly, just inspiring people to be more streetwise about food, where it comes from and how it affects their bodies."

In February, Rotherham's The Ministry of Food, which was supported by Jamie before he headed over to the US, announced that it was still helping to educate people about food.
