When looking for ways to make a menu really stand out from the crowd, caterers can rethink preparation techniques in order to come up with something that is truly unique.

Indeed, our resident expert Chef Steve says this versatility is one of his favourite characteristics of herbs and spices.

In an article for the Daily Telegraph, cookbook author and food director of Sainsbury's Magazine Sarah Randell suggested the use of chillies, mustard and rosemary to create a distinctive burger relish.

Chefs can try coming up with their own flavour pairings in order to offer something completely different.
