Celebrating the Jubilee with cake

Celebrating the Jubilee with cake

The Queen will no doubt be enjoying the odd delicious meal or two to celebrate her Jubilee this June. The culinary herbs will be out in force as the best chefs attempt to dazzle royalty with their skills.

And many people will be hosting banquets of their own to celebrate Elizabeth's 60 years on the throne.

In fact, some have even started early, with Prudence Staite creating a six square metre cupcake Queen.

The food artist, whose edible Birmingham skyline was featured in the Sun, has been getting visually creative in the kitchen for years and was more than happy to celebrate royalty with a spot of baking and cake decorating.

"I was excited to be given the chance to create such a meaningful portrait to celebrate the Queen's reign. I have been working with savoury food and chocolate for years, but this was a whole new challenge," she claimed.

Other works crafted by the artists include a cheesy replica of Stonehenge and a version of Big Ben made entirely from sandwiches.
