Culinary spices essential in a Korma

Culinary spices are an essential ingredient that is not to be overlooked in certain popular dishes such as kormas.

McCormick's resident expert Chef Steve says one of the best things about the ingredients is the ability to bring out the natural flavours of other foods.

As a result of this, it could be worth carefully considering what vegetables and meats are going to be incorporated into the dish.

In an article for the Guardian, celebrity chef Nigel Slater asserted that there is no such thing as a classic korma, as every individual, family, cook and restaurant has their own.

"That said, there are a number of things that distinguish this luxurious dish, such as its mild spicing and pale colour," he commented.

He advised sauteeing a variety of culinary herbs and spices, including cinnamon, garlic, ginger and cardamom before adding chicken until it just starts to go a pale brown.
