Fish recipes set to be back on the menu

Fish recipes are set to become more popular it has been suggested

Fish will be appearing on more menus over the next decade as campaigns and television programmes help push the ingredient back into the public's consciousness.

At least this is the view of All About You writer Emma Marsden, who predicted the popularity of shows such as Fish Fight - presented by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall - will increase demand for fish recipes containing alternatives to cod or tuna

"Expect a wider choice of more sustainable fish, such as dab, gurnard and flounder on supermarket counters," she remarked.

Ms Marsden also predicted the coming ten years will see Scandinavian dishes increase in popularity, thanks in part to the arrival of Finnish chef Helen Puolakka at the Skylon restaurant in London's Royal Festival Hall.

The Borneo Post recently suggested thyme is an ideal complement for fish recipes, adding it can also be used to add flavour to chicken dishes, in addition to as an ingredient in stuffing.
