Try herbs in a salad recommended by Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama has shared a salad recipe

There are many places caterers can turn to when looking for adventurous recipes to really set their menu apart from the crowd.

However, sometimes the source of a new idea can be just as surprising as the result of an experimental dish.

In an article for the Guardian, the first lady of the US herself - Michelle Obama - shared her recipe for a refreshing summer chopped salad.

She recommended including a mixture of culinary spices, as well as herbs such as tarragon.

However, she added that: "Any variety works here. If you don't love tarragon, substitute parsley, cilantro [coriander], or dill."

Here at Schwartz for Chef, we really advocate culinary innovation, so bringing your own unique twist to a recipe such as this is always advisable.

So why not try introducing exciting new combinations of ingredients that many not have been tried together before? Your imagination is the only limit!
