Serve veg with herbs in a filo pastry

Coriander is great in filo pastry

Culinary herbs have a wide range of uses in the kitchen - for instance, they offer the ability to bring out the natural flavours of various other ingredients and they work really well when combined with vegetables as a result of this.

In an article for the Daily Telegraph, professional chef and author of the Soup! cookbook Vava Berry recommended pairing coriander and parsley with asparagus to create a tasty, crisp filo pastry filling.

Here at Schwartz for Chef, we really advocate culinary innovation - so why not bring your own twist to this dish by coming up with your own combinations of herbs and spices?

Our resident expert Chef Steve says the scope for experimentation is one of his favourite things about these ingredients - so don't be afraid to let your imagination run wild!

Indeed, it could be a good way of making your menu offerings stand out from the crowd and encourage diners to come back to your restaurant.
