Mustard is a great complement to ribs

When preparing a heavy, meat-based dish such as a rack of ribs, caterers would be well advised to try and think of some condiments they could offer that would complement the meal very well.

They also bring a much-needed convenience to the kitchen - which is perfect for when you need to prepare a lot of recipes in a very short space of time.

However, those who have a little more room for experimentation - or simply wish to add something truly unique to their restaurant's menu - could try to bring their own twist to a classic.

In an article for the Independent, celebrity chef Mark Hix recommended cooking beef top rib in a combination of culinary spices such as ginger.

He also suggested the use of mustard - so why not think of something a little more outre yourself?
