Gozleme can be stuffed with herbs

Pastry can be customised with spices

When caterers are preparing new adventurous recipes with which to populate their restaurant's menu, there are certain staples they may wish to include.

These can be anything from pies to pasta-based dishes, but ensuring these options are customisable is a good rule of thumb.

This way, a more traditional option can be offered to diners, as well as a more experimental meal that will appeal to the customer looking for something a little different.

In an article for the Independent, celebrity chef Bill Granger recommended preparing a gozleme, which is a stuffed, naan bread-type meal.

He suggested filling it with mint, spinach and pine nuts, but here at Schwartz for Chef, we really advocate culinary innovation, so why not let your imagination run wild?

Almost any combination of culinary spices could be used with vegetables to create a really distinctive offering that could provide an exciting alternative to gourmet sandwiches.
