Top UK chefs start school fundraiser

Leading London chefs support Soho school

Leading UK chefs have bandied together to bring their creative cuisine to a charity fundraiser for a Soho school.

Some of London's leading chefs, such as Mark Hix, have rallied to help the Soho Parish School with an event entitled the Soho Food Feast.

Taking place on June 25th, the event is expected to draw in hundreds of hungry visitors eager to try dishes from exclusive restaurants such as the Groucho Club and the Ivy.

It is hoped that the event will raise enough money to offset budget cuts and keep after school activities and clubs alive.

People attending the event may be lucky enough to dine on chef Hix's crisp pork belly, seasoned with thyme, black pepper and garlic.

Headteacher Rachel Earnshaw cheered on the event, telling the Evening Standard that getting the local community to commit to donations has grown tougher due to the economic downturn.
