Summer weather boosts BBQs

England readies itself for a hot summer with BBQ meals

Home chefs around the country will be cracking out their barbecue culinary spices as the temperature is set to soar this weekend.

According to the Metro, June 4th will see England experience temperatures hotter than North Africa or the Mediterranean, as the mercury is expected to reach 25C.

Perennial DIY retailer B&Q has reported that a rush of barbecue and garden furniture sales has boosted the firm's profits by as much as 10 per cent.

This meant that sales climbed 1.5 per cent to reach £1.1 billion by the end of April, while profits grew to £74 million.

The British BBQ Association recommends chefs use a spice rub of sugar, sea salt, garlic powder, paprika, chili powder and black pepper.

Cooks were warned to get the proportions right as no once spice should overpower the others, however, those looking for a bit more heat could add a few tea spoons of cayenne pepper or jalapenos.

The group says: "You will certainly amaze and impress your friends at your next barbecue!"
