Chinese chef shares five spice prawns recipe

Chef touts Chinese five spice mix with ginger and coriander on prawns

Renowned Chinese chef Ching-He Huang has shared some of his creative cuisine by revealing the recipe of his five spice salted prawns with coriander sauce. 

The salt and pepper prawn recipe is topped with a grapefruit and coriander dipping sauce, made by mixing ginger with a green and red chilli, as well as lemon juice, grapefruit juice and coriander.

Meanwhile, eggs, potato flour and cornflower are mixed to create a batter, which the prawns are then dipped into and then cooked until golden.

"Mix together the ingredients for the [Chinese five] spice mix and sprinkle over the cooked prawns, toss well and eat immediately, served with the coriander sauce," the chef wrote in the Daily Mail.

Not only does this dish work as a main course but, according to Mr Huang: "It also makes a sophisticated appetiser for serving with cocktails."
