Tarragon can be a great seasoning for seafood

Tarragon can really make seafood dishes stand out

When coming up with a range of creative cuisine to really make a menu stand apart from the crowd, it can be difficult for caterers to think of new ideas.

Luckily, there are so many places to look for sources of inspiration - and it can be easy enough to bring a distinctive twist to a traditional meal.

In an article for the Observer, celebrity chef Nigel Slater recommended serving a delicious bass with tarragon flageolet beans.

Slater claimed he "went to town" on the recipe by using a wild bass, but acknowledged that a farmed variety of the fish - or even trout - can work just as well.

Here at Schwartz for Chef, we really advocate culinary innovation, so why not bring your own twist to the meal by introducing your own distinctive combination of culinary herbs?

Our resident expert Chef Steve says the scope for experimentation offered by herbs and spices is one of his favourite things about the ingredients.
