Add spices to scrambled eggs

Spices can really make an old favourite stand out from the crowd

While classic recipes are obviously consistently popular with diners, it can get a bit boring for the chef having to prepare the same meals over and over.

In order to add more interest, why not try to bring your own twist to an old favourite? This could really help your restaurant to stand apart from the crowd and diners may be delighted with the variety on offer.

In an article for the Observer, celebrity chef Nigel Slater recommended using spices in the preparation of scrambled eggs - and this could make a perfect light bite or breakfast option.

Slater advised the use of chillies, cumin and curry powder, but the adventurous caterer could try their own combination of culinary spices.

Here at Schwartz for Chef, we really advocate this kind of culinary experimentation - and indeed, our resident expert Chef Steve says herbs and spices are the perfect ingredient for this approach.
