Virgin America unveils new in flight meals

Virgin America to serve improved menu

Infamous airline food may soon be a thing of the past as Virgin America has unveiled its line up of culinary herb infused dishes to be served on airplanes across its services. 

The company explains that it changes its menu quarterly in order to offer travellers seasonal and locally-sourced food options.

Virgin America's latest offerings include Texas-style roast beef sandwiches, spinach and strawberry salads and Mexican artisan fruit and cheese selections.

First class flyers will also have access to the summer watermelon salad, the chilli shrimp with fig roasted pear tapas and the chicken sushi roll with wasabi cream cheese rolled in a black bean tortilla and seasoned with ginger.

Additionally, seared salmon and fennel braised pork belly will be available, alongside the chilli powder infused spicy grilled filet of beef.

The beef is served with a black-eyed pea chilli sauce, chickpea fries, sauteed baby green beans and a wild mushroom and fontina Panini with crispy tobacco onions.
