Gordon Ramsey is said to be putting in a heavy bid for new restaurant

Cornwall foodies look set to be treated to adventurous recipes as celebrity chefs engage in a bidding war for a local restaurant, according a report by the Mirror.

Among those celebrity cooks involved, Gordon Ramsay, Rick Stein and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall are said to be driving up the bidding to £2 million.

The prime location fought over is a three-storey, glass-fronted building set to be finished in six week and can host up to 200 guests, while boasting panoramic views of the Cornish seafront.

Additionally, the brand new site has an glass elevator that faces the outside of the building for even more spectacular views.

Steve McTeare, director of RLT Architects, commented: "Gordon Ramsay visited 18 months ago and Rick Stein and River Cottage are also interested. The aim is to get someone with a high profile here."

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall recently shared his obsession with sage, recommending a brown butter, black pepper and salt sauce recipe for the herb.
