Caterers who are looking for new adventurous recipes that will also provide diners with a warm, comfort food option in the colder months could opt for a pumpkin risotto.

Celebrity chef Angela Hartnett suggested this recipe in an article for the Guardian, claiming it "is a perfect winter dish" and can be simple to prepare.

She noted the only unusual element to consider is allowing enough time for the pumpkin to cook down.

Once the risotto has been prepared, Ms Hartnett advised serving with sliced chestnuts and topping with grated parmesan and sage.

Alternatively, chefs could experiment with their own flavour pairings to add the finishing touch to a risotto.

McCormick's resident expert Chef Steve says versatility is one of his favourite things about herbs, as there is potential for some great combinations.

For instance, he suggests pheasant as a winter dish, which can be given a unique twist with cinnamon and hazelnut.
