Celebrate British Pie Week

Celebrate the pie in the first week of March

The first week of March - 5th to the 11th - could be the ideal time for chefs to prepare some flavour ideas for pie dishes.

This is because these dates have been set aside for British Pie Week and some caterers still have the chance to enter a recipe of their own for consideration in a competition that forms part of the event.

Some of the prizes for the winner - who will be crowned the Pub Pie Champion - include a personalised chef jacket and coverage of the restaurant the meal comes from in the national press.

Professionals who are not taking part could still take some inspiration from the event, as the goal of the activities is to celebrate the pie in all its forms.

Entries were also recently opened for the British Pie Awards, which is currently in its fourth year and aims to promote recipes from all regions of the UK.
