Spice up a menu with Tex Mex dishes

Tex Mex food could be one source of inspiration for chefs

Those who are looking for new ideas to present on their menu of creative cuisine may wish to consider taking inspiration from Tex Mex dishes.

Head chef at London's Mount Street Deli Mary Lewis shared her ingredients for a chicken salad inspired by the Central American traditions in an article for the Guardian.

Researching other culinary cultures may be a source of inspiration to caterers and lead to the developing unique twists on traditional favourites.

Indeed, McCormick's resident expert Chef Steve says this is one of his key influences in the profession and other workers in the field could follow his lead. 

Preparation of Ms Lewis's dish involved marinating the chicken overnight in a sauce made from culinary spices such as cayenne pepper and coriander, in addition to chilli, garlic and ginger.
