Healthy cooking recommended by army chef

Cooking healthy recipes is a must for people with young families.

During these uncertain economic times, it is all too easy to opt for comfort food, which can not only be unhealthy, but lacking in inspiration.

The latter is essential if you want your children to be more adventurous with what they eat, but it can also help dishes be much more healthy.

Try using herbs and spices - like Fajita seasoning - instead of salt to add a bit of definition to a dish.

Or opt for a French Dressing to encourage young ones to eat their greens without complaining.

Speaking to the Aiken Standard, army chef Kim Milano said: "I tell people that if they eat better, they will feel better, and they will be able to handle stress better."

She claimed that cooking for children can have good results for adults too, as they are often reluctant to change but will cook healthier meals for their kids.
