Bake fish with culinary spices

Ginger and chillies are great with seafood

There are so many great ways for caterers to come up with something truly distinctive to add to their restaurant's menu.

Our resident expert Chef Steve says that one of his main sources of professional inspiration is researching the culinary traditions of other cultures.

In an article for the Independent, celebrity chef Bill Granger suggested baking a Chinese-style sea bream with bok choi.

This dish is served with a dressing that's absolutely loaded with culinary spices - specifically chillies and ginger - as well as ingredients like soy and garlic.

However, it could be a good idea for the more adventurous professionals out there to try coming up with a way to bring their own unique twist to this kind of meal.

Experimenting with different combinations of herbs and spices is an obvious start - and the dressing can be tailored in almost any number of new and exciting ways.
