Make a focaccia with rosemary

Dont be afraid to add herbs to bread

Focaccia is a great dish that is consistently popular with diners - and it can make the perfect appetiser offering for any restaurant's menu.

In an article for the Daily Telegraph, Eric Lanlard - a French patissier and celebrity chef who trained in the French Navy - recommended his own version of the recipe.

Here, he suggested the addition of certain ingredients to distinguish it from other versions of the bread - and these included feta cheese, sun dried tomatoes and olives.

Most excitingly, however, was his addition of rosemary to the mix - and this is where caterers can bring in their own twist to the dish.

Of the many benefits culinary herbs bring to a kitchen, by far the most interesting is the scope they offer for the introduction of new taste sensations to any plate.

So why not try coming up with distinctive flavour pairings that may not have been tried before?
