Cinnamon is a great addition to kofte

Furthermore, they can be brought together in unusual flavour pairings for a really distinctive twist on a familiar dish.

For instance, professional chef Stevie Parle recommended the use of cinnamon when preparing a beef kofte dish in an article for the Daily Telegraph.

Preparation involved grinding cinnamon sticks in a pestle and mortar and rubbing it into the meat.

This sweeter ingredient is often associated with desserts, so adding it to a spicy meal could really prove to be a hit with diners.
