Beef and Vegetable Pie - School Meal

Ingredients:

- 1.2 kg beef, diced
- 1 (sachet)
- 450 grams onions, sliced
- 600 grams carrot, diced
- 300 grams frozen peas
- 30 ml oil
- 600 grams cold water
- 600 grams mushrooms, diced
- 1 kg prepared puff pastry
- Egg wash

Method:

Sweat off onions and carrots in hot oil and reserve.

Brown meat in the same pan.

Add water, Schwartz for Chef Savoury Mince Recipe Mix and onions and carrots.

Simmer for 40 mins.

Add mushrooms and peas and simmer for 5 mins.

Place pie mix into an oven proof dish and allow to cool.

Roll out puff pastry and cover pie mix.

Egg wash pastry and bake in oven until golden brown.

Each portion serves 10 senior school children / adults and serves 20 junior school children
