Spices can really liven chicken up

Coconut rice can liven up chicken

There are many ways in which caterers can bring something new to the table when they are coming up with new possibilities for inclusion on their restaurant's menu.

In an article for the Independent, celebrity chef Bill Granger acknowledged that wondering how to liven up chicken in particular is a common question.

He suggested making coconut chicken in a bowl, in which the poultry dish is expanded with the addition of coconut rice, as well as "a zingy dressing, some crunch and a kick".

His recipe for the meal included culinary spices like coriander and chilli - and this is where really adventurous chefs have room for innovation.

By coming up with flavour pairings of your very own, you can create something really distinctive that could set your offerings apart from the crowd.

Chef Steve - our resident expert - says that herbs and spices offer a great deal of scope for this goal.
