Cayenne pepper is great with lamb

Herbs can really set off a roast

Cayenne pepper could be the perfect spice to add to a recipe for rump of salt marsh lamb with samphire patties.

Owner of the Hix Oyster & Chop House in London Mark Hix recommended the inclusion of this particular culinary spice in his version of the meal.

In an article for the Independent, he suggested mixing the samphire with spring onions and seasoning with this ingredient.

However, professional caterers could take steps to set their own restaurant's offerings apart from the crowd by coming up with an alternate set of herbs and spices to add to the meal.
