Add dill and parsley to a beef salad

Add herbs to a beef salad

Salads are easily overlooked on a restaurant's menu - but it is just as important for caterers to put as much creativity and effort in to the dishes as they do with their main meals.

Rather than throwing together the same old leaves with a hastily-assembled dressing, why not get some culinary herbs in there to really make sure the offerings stand apart from the crowd?

In an article for the Daily Telegraph, professional chef Stevie Parle recommended adding some roughly chopped dill and parsley to a beef salad.

Beetroot, tomato and walnut were also among the key ingredients - and the truly adventurous chef would not be afraid to bring their own unique twist to the meal by coming up with their own ingredients.

Don't forget that herbs and spices are a great way to bring out the natural flavours of other ingredients - and salt is not to be overlooked as a means of tying the flavours together.
